IS CBD OIL THE SAME AS HEMP SEED OIL?
No, CBD oil is not the same as hemp seed oil. They both come from the Cannabis sativa plant, but from different parts of the plant. CBD oil most often uses the whole plant, while hemp seed oil comes from its seeds.
CBD oil is an oil that contains Cannabidiol (CBD) which is extracted from the cannabis plant and is usually combined with a base oil (often olive, hemp extract oil, or MCT). CBD’s main function is to regulate our endocannabinoid system, which is responsible for stabilizing the internal environment.
Hemp seed oil does not contain any cannabinoids like CBD but instead is a rich blend of nutrients, including protein, polyunsaturated acids and vitamin E. Due to its high nutritious value and antioxidants, hemp seed oil is most often used in food and skincare products. Hemp seed oil can also be a carrier oil for CBD.
