Course Objective:

UCLA, UCSD, USC, and other major colleges and medical schools are conducting research on COVID-19 and TCM. A team of medical doctors, acupuncturists, and herbalists from UCLA and UCSD have designed a clinical study to treat COVID-19 with a Chinese herbal formula. The FDA granted approval to the project earlier this year. The Mushroom and Chinese Herbs for COVID-19 (MACH-19) studies are double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trials for mildly to moderately ill, self-quarantining COVID patients.

Disclaimer: This course only refers to the research aspect and currently there are no ‘proven’ treatments for COVID-19.

The purpose of this webinar is to provide an update on the latest information and research regarding COVID-19 and TCM research in the US and around the world, including UCLA, UCSD, USC and others.

Course Goals:
· Introduction and overview of the MACH-19 clinical trials
· Describe how the study design developed and the processes involved
· Discuss the safety measures that were incorporated into the study
· Provide an update of the research regarding COVID-19 and TCM in the US and around the world
